Born in 1990 in Istanbul, Pınar Akyüz is a dance artist, choreographer, and academic whose journey into movement began at the age of seven with classical ballet. In 2009, she completed the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate Program at the intermediate level with distinction. She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and proficiency in art degrees in contemporary dance from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

    Since 2013, she has been sharing her knowledge as a lecturer at several institutions, including the one from which she graduated. Continuing to shape her artistic voice through international encounters at festivals and intensives such as ImPulsTanz Vienna, B12 in Berlin, and the One Body One Career Countertechnique Intensive.

   Her practice, lectures and performances are deeply rooted in somatic awareness, often unfolding around questions of the body’s presence and its relation to space. Recently, she has been exploring the concepts of distance, intimacy, and the broader meaning of holding space.
